Job Description:  CH2M HILL Oil & Gas Project Engineer Jobs - Denver, Colorado

The challenge? Help to meet the ever increasing global demand for energy. Our Oil & Gas Midstream Project Engineers work as part of a team on projects in energy transport including liquid and natural gas pipelines, pump stations, meter stations and compressor stations. Each day you integrate the various engineering, scheduling, procurement, construction, and commissioning aspects of one or more projects. You should be a self motivated degreed Engineer with at least five years experience in oil & gas project engineering experience (full project life cycle from feasibility studies, routing/site selection through to construction) and a desire to grow personally and professionally with each oil & gas project.

Our Oil & Gas Project Engineers:
  • Assemble and lead the project team.
  • Allocate resources where appropriate to achieve the safety, time, cost, scope and quality objectives of the project.
  • Lead development of Total Installed Cost estimates.
  • Manage multi-discipline project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with overall project objectives.
  • Evaluate material and construction bids.
  • Manage project through construction.
  • Comply with applicable regulations and client guidelines for design, project documentation and records.
  • Participate in business development activities.
  • Develop the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, monitors progress to maintain schedules and budgets; identifies and documents change scope.
  • Interact with discipline leads and/or discipline engineers to ensure compliance with project objectives.
  • Manage bid presentation and opening meetings.
  • Manage technical support during construction.
  • Design, coordinate and communicate deliverables per Client and Company specifications.
Additional Information: CH2M HILL will not sponsor a work visa (e.g. H1B visa, etc.,) to fill this position.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from accredited college or university is required
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Project Engineering experience in oil/gas industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communications is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE Registration
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in oil/gas Midstream/Upstream industry
  • Midstream field and construction experience is a plus
  • Operating Company experience is a plus
  • Experience in any or all of the following: oil & gas pipelines, compressor stations, well heads, gathering facilities

Degree Required

Bachelors or 4 Year Degree

Preferred Years of Experience

5-10
