Our Transportation Project Management career path is your chance to work on exciting and engaging medium to large-scale infrastructure projects. Each day, you will be the face of CH2M HILL as you lead highway, roadway, bridge, and interchange projects and pursuits. You will have the opportunity to be a Senior Project Manager on large transportation projects throughout Southern California and will be responsible for managing project teams to pursue work, perform preliminary and final design engineering and prepare documentation to satisfy the requirements for federally funded roadway projects. In this role, you will develop scopes, negotiate hours, prepare reports, develop and maintain schedules and budgets, direct and mentor project staff, and ensure quality reviews are completed. You manage client relationships and lead business development initiatives.

You need to be a self-motivated professional and have experience with Caltrans, LA Metro, and local City projects as well as strong leadership skills and experience in both preliminary and final design and procedures for roadway projects. You should have a BSCE and a PE, with at least 15 years of progressively responsible experience managing medium to large transportation projects. Your focus on providing excellent leadership skills, creative engineering solutions and effective communication skills will be the winning combination. You should have the skills to manage the complex nature of highway, freeway and rural roadway projects in various stages of completeness and the desire to grow both personally as well as professionally with each project management opportunity.

Our Project Managers:

  • Achieve health, safety and environmental responsibility
  • Achieve client expectations for quality, schedule and budget
  • Set project team expectations
  • Coordinate the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety and organization of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff
  • Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance
  • Identify schedule and cost variances and develops and implement recommendations for corrective action
  • Help grow the Project Manager resources of the firm through the coaching of others and participating in the development and delivery of learning events
  • Maintain a close relationship with clients and track upcoming project opportunities and collaborate on project pursuits

Basic Qualifications

  • BSCE
  • PE license
  • A minimum of 15 years progressively responsible experience with leadership responsibility
  • Experience with local agency projects

Degree Required

Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
