Minimum Requirements: • Minimum BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis on water/wastewater and water resources engineering • Registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California • Minimum 9 years of engineering work experience in the water/wastewater field with proven track record in selling and delivering projects • Experience managing large water/wastewater infrastructure design projects • Must be a self starter, entrepreneurial and capable of developing his/her own clients and playing a key role in developing relationships with new clients and maintaining existing client relationships and generating new business • Must have strong technical skills and history of successful projects • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills • Must be able to work independently and with others and manage multiple projects • This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee. • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: URS Santa Ana office is looking for a qualified and a highly motivated Civil Engineer with extensive experience in water/wastewater engineering to join our Los Angeles Basin Water & Wastewater Group as a Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager for planning and design of water, wastewater, stormwater and water resources projects to address the needs of a growing practice.
Responsibilities: • Support a variety of civil engineering planning and design projects including but not limited to pipelines, pump stations, water/wastewater treatment, and integrated water resources engineering planning. • Take the lead in project execution, project cost estimates and schedules, project work plans, keeping projects on schedule and within budget, and coordinating / participating in the preparation of plans and specifications, technical reports documenting project activities, findings and recommendations with limited supervision • Assist in expanding business development by maintaining a list of upcoming project pursuits and actively positioning URS for these upcoming projects several months prior to the release of Request for Proposals through regular communications with the clients and sharing such information with the Los Angeles Basin team
