In this position, you will be a member of the marketing team on our MassRIDES project, which manages the statewide travel demand management (TDM) and Safe Routes to School programs at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. As a Marketing Coordinator you will be responsible for marketing components that support the efforts of the outreach staff and encourage alternative mode use in the Commonwealth. The Marketing Coordinator supports the efforts of the outreach team and provides necessary marketing tools and resources to raise program awareness and participation. You will work in a fast paced team environment.
Job Description: • Performs a range of transportation demand management marketing tasks aimed at enhancing opportunities for individual travelers, commuters, and/or students to utilize non-drive-alone means of transportation, including carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, bicycling, walking, teleworking, and other options • Develop, promote, and/or implement marketing initiatives to encourage alternative mode use, improve overall air quality and mitigate traffic congestion
Responsible for managing multiple project marketing initiatives, including but not limited to: • Assist with the development of marketing materials, research and analysis projects, client reports, and promotional campaigns • Provide content and manage updates to the program website and social media outlets • Coordinate with graphic designers and subcontractors to manage marketing projects • Create and distribute email blasts to program participants including regular newsletters and special promotions • Assist in coordinating statewide promotional campaigns • Conduct marketing research • Coordinate events, seminars and special projects • Assist with development of media opportunities including writing project press releases and information gathering for media inquiries
