Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems,Business, or related scientific or technical discipline; Minimum years of Experience - 5 years; Substitutions - 8 years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education.
Must have expert experience in Tactical Routing, switching, QoS, multicast, and VoIP. Additionally, must have experience in integrating PEO C3T equipment to include WIN-T, JBC-P, Mission Command, and Tactical Radios. Must have experience in supporting Network Integration Exercise (NIE).
Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. The position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software. Position may require travel. Must be able to pass/maintain a Security Clearance - active clearance is strongly preferred. Job Description: URS is seeking a Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to provide acquisition support services the U.S. Army and the Program Executive Office for Command, Control and Communications Tactical (PEO C3T) on Fort Hood, Texas and various other locations.
Perform in the design, integration, and analysis of military electronics, computer networking, super-minicomputers, microcomputers, and digital and graphic display systems
Interacts with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design. Participates in the devcelopment of test strategies. Solves engineering problems (or managing the solution of engineering problems) in the functional area to which assigned.
This position is contingent and awaiting the contract to be awarded in April 2013.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks independently. 2. Responsible for complete designs, analyses, or design reviews. 3. Generate complete design specifications for more complex projects. 4. May provide training to less experienced engineers. 5. Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements. 6. Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status. 7. Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications. 8. Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications. 9. Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations. 10. Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures. 11. Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies. 12. Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
