Minimum Requirements: 8 years logistics experience or a certified Professional Logistician (CPL) certificate with four (4) years additional related experience.

Must be familiar with the current military logistics current systems/ methodology. Excellent analytical and communication skills; must possess planning/organizing and leadership skills and a valid drivers license. Position may require travel.

Work is performed in a variety of settings including an office environment, warehouse, and outside. This position requires travel and physical exertion at various times. Job Description: URS is looking for an Senior Logistician to join our team in Aberdeen, Maryland! This position is contingent on contract award.
Plans, develops and executes logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product. Develops and implements logistics program activities including ILS, technical documentation, RAM, provisioning, etc.; coordinates efforts of subcontractors and field service personnel; resolves logistics problems; and compiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistic activities.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the success operation of the Logistics department to include Supply Support Operations, Requisition Processing, Inventory, Hazardous Material Management, Research and Cataloging, Purchasing and Acquisition, Receiving, Warehousing, Garage Operations, Equipment Management and Administrative Support Services. 2. Manage staff and resources for the Logistics function 3. Set and administer operating standards and policies for the department. 4. Establish and manage operating budgets for the logistics programs and departments. 5. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the overall effective logistics program to support the initiatives and directives of the customer. 6. Evaluate and recommend new initiatives and methodology in the logistics area based on requirements and priorities. 7. Participate with the customer to assist in supporting the strategic direction of the logistics department. 8. Act as the liaison for URS other contractors and the customer for planning, implementing and coordinating logistics initiatives.
