Minimum Requirements:
• Associate's degree or completion of technical trade school courses, or equivalent experience
• Minimum six years of experience in roadway and bridge detailing
• Must have experience with Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) or other Department of Transportation standards
• Familiarity with ODOT L&D and Bridge Design Manuals
• Must be proficient with current AutoCad and Microstation and their respective 3D software and Microsoft Office (word & Excel)
• Valid driver's license
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Job Description:
The transportation business line of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Cadd Technician for immediate employment in the Akron/Cleveland area. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Autocad and Microstation design and detailing, specific to civil bridge and roadway projects. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including high and low level bridge and roadway rehabilitation and replacement projects for state and local agencies.
Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Perform computer aided drafting/detailing for a variety of bridge and roadway design projects.
• Develop existing and proposed surfaces, roadway profiles and roadway alignments
• Develop reinforcing steel schedules (Calculate rebar lengths and dimensions)
• Perform roadway and bridge related quantity take-offs
• Mentor younger detailing staff
