ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Analyst works closely with conservation and science staff to analyze data relating to the sustainability of fisheries in the face of climate change in order to identify priorities and direct the implementation of conservation actions.  This may include some or all of the following:
  • Synthesizes and analyzes data relating to the relationship between biodiversity, climate change, and resilience of fisheries.
  • Reports results and contributes to development of recommendations for conservation strategies and actions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in science-related field and 1 year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of fisheries ecology and economics
  • Experience with quantitative methods for fisheries ecology and economics
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite software, Web browsers, and STATA. 
  • Experience managing databases and producing reports.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects, setting realistic deadlines and managing timeframes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Knowledge of natural systems, natural systems management techniques, and economics.
  • Analyzing, manipulating, and interpreting data, including statistics.
  • Completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
  • Managing and prioritizing tasks from multiple sources.
  • Communicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
  • This is a part-time (20 hours/week), paid internship position with an employment duration of two months.
