Minimum Requirements: • B.S. Environmental Science or related degree (i.e. engineering or chemistry) • Minimum two years of experience in the environmental industry specifically with compliance experience • In addition, the candidate should have excellent management and communications skills (verbal and oral); analytical and problem solving skills; and the ability to read and decipher State and Federal regulations. • Must have the ability to research, organize and present data from multiple sources. • Candidate must be proficient with the use of standard software including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. • Must be comfortable working with existing and new clients to support the development of clients and programs. • Valid driver's license required. • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. The Company offers a broad range of planning, engineering and architectural design, environmental, construction, program and construction management, systems integration, operations and maintenance, management and a wide range of specialized technical services for the U.S. federal government, state and local government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and other multinational corporations. We provide services for transportation, hazardous waste, industrial infrastructure and process, petrochemical, general building, water/wastewater, military facilities and equipment platforms, and defense and security programs. The Seattle office is seeking a dynamic and experienced entry level environmental compliance specialist to support the compliance team with multi-media environmental compliance projects for federal and industrial clients. Responsibilities of this position will include providing compliance support, conducting regulatory research, and preparing written reports. Environmental management system compliance services such as developing and conducting environmental training, development of program plans, assessments and audits, development of recommendations for improvement, and implementation of compliance improvement initiatives will be provided to clients in a broad range of industries and sectors including commercial, federal, state, and local governments.
The candidate will successfully serve as a team member for industrial and federal clients meeting cost, schedule, and quality objectives. The candidate will effectively participate in project teams by coordinating and communicating with project team members, other project managers, and other URS offices.
The Candidate will be supporting the full range of offerings of URS' depth and breadth of compliance expertise, with a focus on regulatory research and multimedia compliance with federal/military and commercial sector clients. Direct and frequent interaction with clients is anticipated including assistance with client management activities such as understanding client operation and client needs; collaboration with client on development of project requirements, draft scopes of work, and rough order of magnitude budgeting;; delivering recurring and new project work; and the preparation of URS qualifications-based and cost-based proposals.
