Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline • Minimum 9 years of engineering experience within the oil and gas industry • 4 of the 9 years must be acting in a lead engineering or project engineering capacity • Must have excellent leadership ability, communications skills, interpersonal skills, and sound judgment • Must be able to develop strong relationships and accounts with clients and be able to develop business opportunities in engineering/design consulting and successful project and client management experience. Knowledge of engineering for oil and gas industries specifically with pipeline, compression and facilities • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: The IE Denver Process Engineering Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Engineer for immediate employment in the Lakewood, Colorado office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in engineering specific to oil and gas projects. Incumbent Responsibilities: This position is for a URS Representative who communicates directly with client and leads URS Project Teams in the execution of all phases of projects from the proposal through execution. The Project Engineer provides oversight to lead discipline engineers, project administrators, project controls representatives and procurement representative assigned to the project. The Project Engineer will take direction from Project Managers. The Project Engineer is also responsible for leading project activities and assisting in other project engineering activities including: scope development, project resource loading, cost estimating and reporting, scheduling and forecasting, material requisition, HSE support, construction management, RFI, and start-up assistance. The Project Engineer is responsible for building upon existing internal and external relationships and developing new ones to maximize the capture of new work in the areas of support to Oil & Gas and Pipeline companies. The successful candidate will follow URS Project Management, Quality Assurance and Accounting procedures and demonstrates equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience. The successful candidate will have an established practice and a broad network of local, regional, and corporate contacts and relationships to build upon. This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee.
