ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Executive Assistant performs a variety of high level administrative tasks, which may include budget preparation, travel arrangements and meeting logistics, scheduling, reporting and tracking information for senior management.  S/he provides direct support to the NYS Chief Conservation and External Affairs Officer and the NYS Chief Operations Officer and may support other senior managers.  Duties include frequent interaction with all members within the organization; as well as customers, vendors and business relations.  S/he makes interpretations and recommendations as appropriate.  Duties are highly confidential and require comprehensive knowledge of TNC’s policies, procedures and operations.  Responsibilities require discretion, judgment, tact and poise.  Incumbent has considerable latitude and flexibility in carrying out assigned tasks.

 

 
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 5 years work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with MS Office, including use of the Internet.
  • Experience managing coordinating the schedule and contacts of a senior leader(s).
  • Experience coordinating projects, setting realistic deadlines, managing a timeline or related activities
  • Experience working with a wide range of people, such as board of directors, donors, volunteers, the public and/or all levels of staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. 
  • May require database management with ability to produce reports and ability to use advanced functions, including sophisticated knowledge of the Internet.
  • Proven organizational and administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize time, manage diverse activities and meet critical deadlines.
  • Supervisory experience.
