BS or higher with a scientific degree

Experience: Ten (10) years of experience managing complex Navy/Joint warfighting programs. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills are required. Must have demonstrated understanding of System Engineering Principles and Processes. Must have demonstrated experience managing software and hardware development and integration efforts. Must have demonstrated experience with creating and maintaining complex integrated master schedules and Work Breakdown Structures. Must have demonstrated experience tracking costs and budgets for system engineering efforts.

SECRET security clearance required.

Job Description:

URS is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Directed Energy Warfare Office (DEWO) for the development and fielding of the Laser Weapon System (LaWS). Will provide direct support to Senior Navy Program Management contributing to the management and execution of LaWS development efforts. Will review and develop engineering plans, monitor and track schedules and budgets; will lead development of, or contribute to, the authoring of essential system documentation; will review and evaluate junior and mid-level engineer produced products and artifacts. Will contribute to the evolution, oversight and review of technical milestones and design evolutions such as Functional and Allocated Baseline reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, Technology Demonstrations, Engineering and Manufacturing Development and testing evolutions. Will develop and brief presentation material used in staff management reviews.
