ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Operations Assistant is responsible for greeting visitors, phone reception, and mail distribution within The Nature Conservancy’s Boston office. S/He manages the accounts payable system, VPR (Vendor Payment Request system), by working with various staff and departments to ensure bills are paid efficiently. S/he works with staff and vendors to troubleshoot accounting problems and create reports. The Operations Assistant is also responsible for supporting Massachusetts Chapter Conservation Programs staff with administrative duties, including travel arrangements, meeting logistics, research and data/report preparation. This position reports to the Director of Operations and is part of a small Operations team that works closely to ensure the overall smooth functioning of the Boston office. The Operations Assistant is a part-time position at 21 hours/week. Currently, this position would need to work Wednesdays, Fridays and one other weekday of the Operation Assistant’s choice.
