Job Description:

Key functions of this position are claims avoidance, claims mitigation and claims management.

Key Duties:

· Expediting processing of payment applications and change order

· Assisting CPMs manage within 10% change order limit

· Partnering with CPMs on project level issues

· Advising CPMs on issuing Notice to Cure and Notices of Default and ensuring conformance with General Conditions.

· Managing the claims resolution

· Facilitating claims settlement

· Assignment of counsel and claims consultants as needed and management of consultants.

· Liaison to District’s Risk Manager and outside counsels

· Coordinates Facilities Planning and Development’s activities with the Office of General Counsel

· Assignment of project specific claims matter

· Drafting and facilitating the execution of settlement agreements

· Preparation of Facilities Legal meeting agendas

· Responding to Public record Act Requests

CPM and Program Management Team training

Basic Minimum Requirements:

JD degree, 8+ years experience, prior contacts/claims management experience required. Higher education market sector experience required.
