Minimum Requirements: • BS, Civil/ Environmental Engineering or related engineering discipline • PE in the State of California (Civil) • Working knowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulatory framework and processes • Minimum nine years of relevant work experience specific to soil and groundwater remediation UST Cases • Knowledge and experience implementing various remedial technologies specific to petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons • Must demonstrate an established career in environmental engineering and consulting, with experience in completion of feasibility/corrective measures studies, design/permitting/installation/operation and maintenance of soil and groundwater remediation systems at retail service stations and other sites • 40-hour HAZWOPER trained with valid 8-hour refresher • This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee. • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: The Infrastructure and Environment division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Engineer for immediate employment in the San Diego, CA office.

Incumbent Responsibilities: • Participate and contribute to the office business development through identifying and developing new clients • Take an active role in the office safety program and safety observation reporting • Liaison with client representatives and senior staff to understand needs and objectives, develop strategy and communicate progress • Review feasibility of remedial design alternatives, considering site conditions, regulatory requirements and client needs • Prepare various plans and reports to support remediation projects • Develop designs, specifications and drawings as required • Prepare cost estimates for implementation • Manage discrete tasks within schedule and budget • Manage and oversee remediation field technicians and provide engineering support to optimize remediation system performance and routine equipment troubleshooting • Oversee contractors and subcontractors with emphasis on safe work practices, as well as scope, schedule and budget adherence • Produce high quality reports and documentation The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above.
