Minimum Requirements: • BS in Civil Engineering or Architecture required.
• PE, AICP or appropriate certification required.
• Minimum of 10 years' progressively more responsible experience including managing substantial aviation projects, client management, business development. Must have considerable supervisory experience to include managing a medium-sized department (20 or more employees).
• Proven ability to identify, develop and maintain business relationships with major aviation clients including airports, airlines, aircraft suppliers, agency and military clients providing civil engineering, facilities design and airport planning services.

The Aviation Practice in the Mountain, South Central Group of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Director of Aviation for immediate employment. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Airport design or planning including large-scale project management, business development and client/program management. The role will provide strategic leadership and play a central role in business development within the Mountain / South Central Group creating, implementing and managing the client development strategy for major aviation clients within the region. The incumbent can look forward to large-scale projects involved in all facets of aviation design, planning and construction both domestically and abroad in partnership with URS Scott/Wilson. Project types will include terminals, support facilities, aircraft maintenance hangars, Federal Inspection Services facilities, runways, taxiways, automated people movers, parking structures, airport noise programs and a suite of support services in Planning, Environmental, Architecture, Airport Electronics Systems, Engineering and Construction Management.
Incumbent Responsibilities:
General management of the multi-disciplinary Airport Design/Planning/Electronics Department in Denver, CO and across the Mountain South Central Group of URS. Develops operating and staffing plans; short-, medium-, and long-term business goals and objectives in step with the direction of National Aviation leadership; prepares and implements business development programs including both new and existing clients throughout the Intermountain West and Central Gulf with a territory of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, with a strategic partnership supporting the Pacific Northwest Region; works with Operations to identify emerging industry needs; manages client concerns; develops strategic marketing plans and lead the business development activities within the assigned geography.
