Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum Master's degree in Planning or related field
• AICP
• Minimum four (4) years of experience working as a transportation planner
• Experience with consultant, FDOT, local government on transportation projects required
• Specific experience with FDOT Efficient Transportation Decision Making (ETDM) required
• Project planner experience with corridor and regional level projects for federal, state, local governments
• Proficient with Geographic Information Systems software applications
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test


Job Description:

The URS Infrastructure & Environment Americas is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transportation Planner for immediate employment in the Tampa, Florida office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in transportation planning specific to development of planning reports for infrastructure projects, including highways, rail, transit and aviation. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including advanced screening of major infrastructure investments for governmental agencies, coordination with local, regional, state and federal agencies on multi-modal projects primarily within the State of Florida.

Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Evaluate transportation investments for agencies and clients
• Prepare written summary documentation for public and agency presentation
• Interact with peer professionals regarding potential project definitions and impacts
• Coordinate with support staff as needed to address issues identified on projects
• Researches feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions and regulatory agency specifications
• This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of the URS Corporation
