Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, business, marketing or other relevant subject-matter
• Valid Driver's License
• Minimum 7 years of experience in communications and marketing
• Excellent communications and time management skills
• Ability to manage graphics specialist
• Ability to act as internal consultant to MTA staff on content and presentation of project information
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test


Job Description:

The Communications manager reports directly to the Chief Program Operations in the performance of the following duties.
• Coordinates Tours of various project sites requested by Senior MTA Management, and outside organizations (i.e. colleges, railroad, Moles, etc.).
• Provide content management of the project intranet site (ESAHome), including preparing articles, updating project information and ensuring content is kept current and accessible. Also works with MTACC and MTAHQ website coordinates for inclusion in their websites.
• Provide editorial support ensuring consistent usage of the MTACC and ESA logotypes, style guides for reports, bid documents, presentations and other publications.
• Assist in the development of draft agreements and memorandums of understanding between project and LIRR, AMTRAK, NYCT and NYAR.
• Support the development of management presentations and briefing materials. This includes acquiring video footage and digital photographs showing physical progress and construction methods.
• Maintain a catalog system for retrieval of communications based materials.
• Coordinate special Project Events, such as awards breakfast including developing list of awardees, preparing certificates, etc.
• Maintain the ESA project roster for use on the ESA Underground and MTACC intranet roster.
• Read and edit articles and presentations developed for professional journals/conferences ensuring the project is correctly described and attributed, and graphics are current and accurate.
• Act as Point on project queries.
• The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those stated above.
