Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering • Registration and designation as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Connecticut • Minimum 5 years electrical engineering experience • Experience and working knowledge of traction power or utility power distribution • Experience and working knowledge of SCADA systems • Experience with Connecticut Department of Transportation • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey thoughts clearly and concisely • Valid driver's license required • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: The Infrastructure and Environment division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Engineer for immediate employment based in the Rocky Hill, CT office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in design and construction of traction power facilities, including but not limited to engineering studies, design drawings and specifications for transformers, switchgear, SCADA systems and protective equipment. • This position will be part of the Surface Transportation - Rail Design Group and will work as part of a team dedicated to client service and satisfaction. • The candidate will manage day to day design and construction support services with the Project teams, including URS, the client, local towns, and existing utilities, as necessary. • The candidate will plan, schedule and coordinate detailed phases of the design tasks, ensures applicable codes and standards are being met, in design and construction support of traction power facilities in the application of advanced concepts and principles. • The candidate will work on highly technical and unique projects. • The candidate will interact with clients including the major transportation agencies located throughout the northeast. The candidate will also interact with multi-disciplinary project teams, often located in multiple offices within URS, and must be able to effectively work in a team setting. The candidate will interact with project engineers and managers within the New England operating region. • This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of the URS Corporation.
