Job Description: 
Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree and 7 years experience

• Experience with Oracle RDBMS and related Oracle tools.

• Must know Oracle Advanced Replication (Master-to-master) - Not Streams Replication

• Strong SQL writing skills and data analysis.

• Experience with PL\SQL procedures and triggers, creating database links, creating schema accounts, views, tables, primary and foreign keys and sequences.

• Knowledge/experience with XML and Oracle XDB.

• Knowledge/experience with RMan backup procedures

• Experience with Oracle10g installations and configurations required - 11g preferred.

• UNIX experience required - prefer candidate who prefers UNIX over Windows.

• Familiarity with Bourne Shell, C Shell, and/or Perl required.

• Tuning experience is a plus.

• Familiarity with web services is a plus.

• Experience leading and managing small technical projects

Job Description:

URS is looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia!

Responsibilities:

• Applies patches and modifies configuration as necessary to remain compliant with security requirements.

• Provides support in troubleshooting application server.

• Documents database installation and operational procedures.

• Monitors database performance.

• Confirms project requirements by studying user requirements; conferring with others on project team.

• Demonstrates general knowledge of managing large scale database management systems by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.

• Determines changes in physical database by responding to project requirements; identifies database characteristics, such as location, amount of space, and access method.

• Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
