Job Description:

CH2M HILL Senior Project Manager - Substation - Parsippany, NJ

The challenge? Assisting our power clients meet the demand to modernize their substation and transmission facilities to supply reliable electric power. Each day you will use your expertise in Substation Engineering, Project Management and Project Engineering to help our clients meet the power needs of their customers.

Our Senior Project Managers:

Lead growth and development of substation and transmission projects and Clients in the northeast US.
Monitor regional industry trends and identify opportunities to serve clients.
Steward contract negotiations.
Manage substation and transmission asset improvement engineering projects.
Monitor substation and transmission scope, schedule and budget for projects and manages client needs.
Provide forecasts resource needs. Assist in identifying and hiring new technical staff.
Support regional offices for generation asset improvement projects.
Perform some limited design work, as applicable.
Support bidding and estimating efforts in the Denver, Atlanta and Charlotte offices.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree Engineering from accredited university: Civil Structural or Electrical.
Minimum 15 years in progressive experience in an Engineering environment serving Power Substation/Transmission distribution clients.
Current assignment as a Project Engineer or Project Manager for substation and transmission improvement projects.
Demonstrated client relationship/project management skills.
Demonstrated Client Development skills.
Strong leadership & people management skills.
Good technical skills.
Demonstrated team player

Preferred Qualifications

20 years experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience in engineering services contract negotiations, preferred
Demonstrated experience in field assignments/startup/construction strongly preferred.
EPC experience a plus.
Demonstrated experience in management of substation and transmission asset improvement projects preferred
PMI Certification a plus.
Professional (PE or PEng) registration required
