Dynamometer Engineering Technician

About Tesla

Model S, the first premium sedan to be built from the ground up as an electric vehicle, goes on the market in mid-2012.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Setting up and executing test procedures, recording data and reporting results on dynamometers
  • Assist in debugging problems test setups or dynamometers
  • Preparing vehicles/systems for test (e.g., installing instrumentation, replacing a component)
  • Testing systems in varying environments on the road and in the dynamometer lab

Essential Skills:
  • Fundamental understanding of software and electrical principles
  • Ability to understand, test, and troubleshoot complicated system interactions
  • Ability to drive solutions to problems across different groups in the org-chart
  • Ability to organize and manage data as directed
  • Ability to work with high voltage systems
  • Ability and passion to do hands on work
  • Good communication skills
  • Clean driving record

Desired Experience:
  • Experience with CAN bus
  • Experience with vehicle instrumentation
  • Experience working in an automotive environment
  • 0-3+ years work experience
  • Experience soldering and machining

Desired Qualification:
  • AS or BS degree in ME/EE/CS or equivalent technical field
