CH2M HILL Project Controls Manager - Chicago, IL

Our Senior Project Controls Manager job will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting, large scale transportation projects. Each day, you will be an important team member overseeing the Program Controls for engineering design and construction schedules and controlling costs for a highly complex, large scale project in the Chicagoland area. You should be a self motivated, detail oriented professional with 20+ years of progressively challenging experience in the construction industry.
Our Senior Program Controls Manager will:
- Serve as Program Controls Manager for a multi-billion dollar program.
- Be responsible for the timely and effective management of all program budget, cost, and schedule data.
- Oversee and manage program cost estimating, including the preparation of independent estimates for programmatic purposes, engineers estimates for select project elements, as well as the review of engineers estimates prepared by others.
- Manage program budgeting in conformance with client budget management procedures, including establishment of initial contract budgets, and management/documentation/reporting of scope and budget adjustments.
- Manage program scheduling controls systems and processes so as to provide relevant schedule data to various user groups including the client, internal and external design team, construction team, and external stakeholder groups. This includes management of a comprehensive Master Corridor Schedule, look ahead schedules, and schedule analyses.
- Manage cash flow controls systems and processes. This includes: reviewing/recording program-related cost accrual deliverables; earned value analyses; quarterly cash flow reporting including variance analyses; analysis of alternative implementation and cash flow scenarios.
- Assist with the management of the program Risk Register, including assessment of impacts of various risk elements on program schedule, budget and cash flow.
- Participate in schedule review meetings with the client and implementation team to discuss project status and to assist in planning and development of contract scheduling options to accommodate changes in priorities and optimize cash flow.
- Serve as the principal point of contact on program controls activities, including coordination with multiple client departments and representatives, designers, construction managers, and contractors.
- Reviews trend analyses, budget updates, and recommendations for corrective action to assure compliance with company and client requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, construction managers, and the client to review cost estimates and construction schedules.
Basic Qualifications - Contract Administration and Construction experience
- 5 years experience in project management
- Experience overseeing project controls on large scale, complex construction projects or leading multiple projects through project managers
Preferred Qualifications - Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- Certified/Trained Facilitator
- 20+ years of progressively challenging experience on major design and construction projects performing Project Management, Project Controls, and Contracts Management
