Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of experience in civil engineering design including the preparation of grading and drainage plans, drainage calculations, utility plans, site plans, roadway design and SWPPP's.
EIT or FE certification and desire to obtain P.E. in California.
Knowledge and ability to perform design work using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Knowledge and experience using ArcGIS and associated hardware and software for Trimble and Garmin GPS units.
Must have strong communication skills and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Requires a working knowledge of CADD and geometric design tools. Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Position requires good organizational skills and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to work within assigned budgets, estimate time required for specific work tasks and complete work assignments with specified schedules.
Valid Driver's License.

Job Description: The Central Coast region of URS is looking for a bright motivated entry level engineer to assist the department with engineering tasks in a variety of civil engineering disciplines including grading and drainage plans, drainage calculations, utility plans, site plans, SWPPP's, road way design and other civil related tasks.
An important role of this position is to assist multiple project managers with map production and data management. This includes using ArcGIS and Trimble hardware and software to download and upload field data into GPS units.
The selected candidate will work very closely URS project managers, project engineers, and other staff professionals to develop engineering opinions, design recommendations, technical reports, and design documents such as plans, specification, and construction cost estimates/schedules. The successful candidate must comply with URS' Corporate Health and Safety program and actively promote a strong safety culture.
Occasional travel and field work may also be required to support the Central Coast operations.
