Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in geography, planning, engineering, computer science or related field • Minimum four years of relevant experience • Or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience • Ability to provide on-site data management support, mapping, and geospatial analysis • Ability to provide technical support for the creation and visualization of data layers and map products using ArcGIS for Desktop Basic to Advanced(version 10.1 and higher) with a minimum of the following extensions of Network Analyst, 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Publisher and Data Reviewer, ArcSDE, and ArcGIS Server software. Candidate interface with the IGI&S Managers, Technical Staff, and functional area Data Managers to provide assistance in data creation, maintenance/ validation, data integration, quality control, database design, compliance with spatial data standards, mapping, analysis, metadata development, DMP, process model development, data distribution, data catalog updates, web-based map services, and provide technical assistance and training to advanced GIS users. • Ability to acquire a favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: The Infratstructure & Environment of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented GIS Specialist for immediate employment in the project office located at the Avon Park Air Force Range, Florida office. Responsibilities: • Specific tasks include, but are not limited to the following • Update the enterprise GIS master database layers for spatial geometry and attributes • Update the metadata associated with each GIS data layer • Generate/Regenerate standard (living) map products • Maintain/Update/Document the GIS Data Standards and the Specifications for Geospatial Data Deliverables in compliance with current Air Force policy and business rules • Conduct and consult on Data Needs Assessments • Perform ad-hoc analyses and create ad-hoc map products • Review technical requirements to meet data development objectives • Perform quality control on data deliverables received for inclusion in the GIS • Provide consultation for GIS strategic planning and resolution of issues • Provide technical assistance and training • Prepare/Maintain a GIS Program Binder (desktop procedures) and Continuity Book (The Program Binder shall provide a narrative summary of work accomplished, incorporating draft and final deliverables by reference. The Program Binder shall be updated quarterly and a copy of the Program Binder shall be available at all times in the work space.) • Develop a Summary Report which shall provide a narrative summary of all deliverables, as well as a trend analysis of work accomplished The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above.
