ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Director of Operations provides overall direction/leadership for all activities related to finance, administration, personnel, facilities, information systems, office management and/or safety within the Illinois Chapter.  The Director educates chapter staff to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.  The Director is part of the management team for the Illinois Chapter.

Finance: S/he is responsible for development and implementation of annual budgets, manages the processes for annual planning, monitors the progress of goals, and submits periodic and annual financial and technical reports.  She provides oversight to the Associate Finance Manager in the ongoing financial processes, as well as in the processing of receipts and accounts receivables.  She insures that the contracts for the Chapter are executed and maintained.

S/he  reviews finances with the Board Treasurer and presents financials to the Board of Trustees. 

Human Resources: She/he directs the performance management, recruiting, onboarding, professional development planning and succession planning components of the chapter’s human resources. S/he provides assistance to all levels of personnel on various HR-related issues.  S/he may oversee the coordination of trainings/meetings and document activities, strategies and lessons learned as appropriate.

Information Systems: The Director provides direction to the TISOM for the information systems support in the state, including budgeting for and purchasing equipment.

Operations:  She/he oversees administrative staff and processes (facility management, telecommunications, general maintenance/repairs, reception, maintaining office supplies, general purchasing requests,). S/he may be responsible for developing operational guidelines to ensure efficient management of the program and compliance with regulations.

S/he manages a multidisciplinary team of professional and support staff and provides guidance in satisfying administrative requirements. The duties of the Director of Operations are highly confidential and require broad and comprehensive knowledge of TNC’s policies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience overseeing all activities related to finance, administration, personnel, facilities, information systems, office management and/or safety for a business unit, department, or equivalent
  • Experience using MS office, Word, and Excel. Experience manipulating, analyzing and/or interpreting financial or other data.
  • Experience in designing, implementing and directing multiple projects with business unit- or department-wide scope.
  • Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team of administrative and professional staff. 
  • Experience developing and administering departmental budget of over $3 million, including experience in financial analysis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 7 - 10 years related experience or equivalent combination.  Master’s degree or CPA may be preferred or required. 
  • Successful experience in developing, directing and managing multiple projects and implementing strategic program goals.
  • Supervisory experience, including ability to motivate, lead, set objectives, and manage performance, including conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience in MS Office, Word, and Excel.  May require database management skills with ability to produce reports.  Ability to use advanced computer functions including navigating the Internet.  Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data.
  • Working knowledge of current trends in relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to changing situations and priorities.
  • Service oriented.  Courteous, personable, tactful and experience dealing effectively and sensitively with all levels of staff and public.
  • May require fluency in foreign language(s) to support global operations. Specific language(s) may be preferred depending on operating unit.
