Our Transportation Structural Engineer career path provides you with the opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale bridge projects. Each day, you will have the opportunity to utilize your bridge design expertise and lead design tasks on challenging projects. As a Structural Engineer in our Chicago, Illinois office, you will carry out and lead the design of civil transportation structures, primarily bridges. Your role will be to provide leadership and technical expertise within the Chicago office. Your responsibilities will also include mentoring junior staff. You will coordinate with CH2M HILL bridge engineers throughout the country. A proven designer, you hold a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis, accompanied by 7-25 years of relevant experience, including planning and design of new bridges and large transportation structures. Ideally you also have experience with seismic engineering. You have remained current on bridge technologies and must have your Illinois Structural Engineering (SE) license. You also have demonstrated success at working within project scope and budget, and experience designing transportation structures. In addition, the ideal candidate will have direct, relevant experience with design and construction practices for the Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois Tollway.
