Our Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the procurement operations of CH2M HILL for assigned projects, and our Spartanburg region, to effectively and proactively plan, coordinate, and control execution of the procurement activities on projects. Each day you will be an important team member that ensures strategic planning and objectives management; defining and achieving value-added expectations; delivering results in regard to on-time performance, cost savings, and quality; and compliance with established policies and procedure. You should be a self motivated, detailed oriented professional with at least 18 years experience procurement concepts, principles and practices, as applied in the engineering and construction industry with experience in program management and project types including consulting and design-build; project delivery processes; and relationship expectations with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and the project team

Our Procurement Manager:

  • Develop Procurement leadership within the Enterprise, manage procurement resources, and direct procurement activities required to support the planning and execution of procurement operations.
  • Define and facilitate achievement of Enterprise business strategies, plans, and goals as assigned.
  • Provide direction and expertise for assigned procurement related activities, and support the planning and execution of operational requirements and projects.
  • Provide regular interaction and communication with Enterprise, Division, Business Group, and regional management.
  • Strictly uphold company policies and procedures, and participate in development or modifications of company policies and procedures when required.
  • Plan for and implement procurement systems necessary to support operations and major domestic and/or international projects throughout the Enterprise.
  • Establish and maintain effective training programs to develop existing personnel in support of regional or Business Group projects.
  • Understand and be aware of changing market conditions with regard to availability and cost of procurement resources as well as movement and trends in the pricing of materials, equipment and services.
  • Review and update working procedures, documents, and systems to keep pace with legal requirements, competition, and market innovations.
  • Maintain performance metrics to measure the performance of those responsible for cost savings, on time performance, and quality performance.
  • Participate in development of complex Project or Program Execution Plans.
  • Assist in the resolution of complex purchase order and subcontract disputes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Supply Management or other applicable field, and training in specific procurement functions. Experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • Minimum of 18 years of Procurement experience, with 10 years in the engineering and construction industry.
  • Significant experience in managing full-service procurement operations (purchasing, subcontracting, expediting, source inspection, transportation logistics, and field material control) on major projects, including drafting and formulating contracts, bidding, negotiating and administering major purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • Highly proficient in one or more of the full service procurement functions.
  • Degree Required Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
