Minimum Requirements:

• B.S Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Maryland or Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum 7 years working as a Water Resources Engineer with at least 3 years of experience as a project manager for projects related to watershed studies, water quality analyses, and/or stormwater design or analysis or floodplain studies. Proven experience in business development.
• Experience working with local communities, including presenting at public meetings.
• Ability to use GIS.
• NPDES, TMDL or Floodplain experience.
• US citizenship required.
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.


Job Description:

The IE Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water Resources Engineering Project Manager for immediate employment in the Germantown, MD office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Water Resources, specific to storm water management analysis, watershed studies, water quality, and NPDES projects. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including MS4, TMDL, water quality studies, stormwater management, and flood mitigation projects with local clients, as well as assisting with post-disaster activities after a major flooding event.

• Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of projects.
• Regularly develops and evaluates project plans.
• Provides leadership, direction and technical guidance on water resources projects.
• Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluations when necessary data are insufficient.
• Responsible for ensuring proper quality control procedures are implemented on all projects.
• Conducts peer reviews and makes technical presentations.
• Identifies potential clients and business lines.
• Secures and manages clients and contracts.
• Mentors Junior Staff.
