Job Description: The Vertical Design Group of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Aviation Project Manager for immediate employment in the Hunt Valley, Maryland office. • Performs work that involves conventional architectural/engineering practice. • As a staff specialist, serves as the professional specialist for the organization (IE or The Company) in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes for an assigned area of responsibility. • Is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on his/her professional interpretations, technical knowledge of building systems and components, and professional advice. • As individual professional and consultant, is a recognized leader and authority in his/her organization in a broad area of specialization or in a narrow, but intensely specialized field. • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of the professional work of a major project element in a total project of moderate or large scope (> $5 mil) under supervision of senior architect. • Is responsible for the architectural program of an organization when the program is of limited complexity and scope. • Plans and develops projects concerned with unique or controversial problems that have an important affect on major organization programs, which involve exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches. • Recommends facilities, personnel and funds required to carry out programs that are directly related to fulfill an organization's objectives. • Maintains liaison with key individuals and units within or outside his/her organization with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to his/her field. • Prepares proposals and presentations, attends interviews, engaging potential clients and existing clients interface. • May have sales targets. • Follows direction from project managers or senior architect. Makes decisions or recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive architectural activities. • Essentially administrative supervision, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. • Makes decisions independently on problems and methods and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate professional work. • Conceives, plans and conducts research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity. • May supervise or coordinate the work of other professionals, technicians and others who assist in specific assignments.
