Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

• Due to the nature of work, candidates must be a US Citizen.

Education/ Certifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in Mechanical Engineering or similar from a four -year ABET accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering License.

Experience Requirements:

• 12+ years of progressive HVAC design and procurement experience of large air handling systems including heating and cooling, controls and integrated safety systems.
• Experience with analysis software such as TRACE 700, AFT Arrow and/or Carrier or similar design programs.
• Experience designing chilled water system including piping, pumping and controls up to 5,000 tons.
• Experience designing steam and hot water heating system including piping and pumping design.
• 5+ years Lead/Supervisory experience in EPC work related to HVAC designs.

---AND---

•10+ years combined HVAC experience in either of the following:
•DOD/DOE environments for nuclear material handling facilities.
•Confinement ventilation systems with HEPA filtration.
•Experience designing cascading negative pressure systems.
•Familiarity with ASME standards for radiological ventilation including AG-1, N509, N510, NFPA 801 and DOE standards.

--- OR ---

• Oil & gas/ petro-chemical facilities.
• Experience with Hazardous area classifications and HVAC design related to hazard control within those facilities.
• HVAC Electrical Buildings, industrial Process applications (control rooms, modules, oil/gas/chemical processing facilities).
• Arctic/North Slope or Canadian design experience.
Specific examples may include:
o Outside air intake preheating using exhaust air in air-to-air heat exchanges.
o For flammable gas systems, ventilation purge rates based upon gas detection.
o For flammable gas systems, intrinsically safe explosion proof designs.
o For heavy gas ventilation, low point exhaust as well as high point exhaust.
o For lethal gas systems, activated charcoal inlet gas filtration when H2S is detected.

Preferred Requirements:

• ASHRAE Member; ASME CONAGT (AG-1 Committee on Nuclear Air and Gas Treatment).
• Field experience in supporting start-up of complex HVAC systems including testing and balancing activities.
• Experience with integration of gloveboxes, hoods and isolation system ventilation into overall facility HVAC and contamination control systems.

Level Specific Responsibilities:

• Has an advanced level of knowledge of engineering within a specific discipline and has a strong understanding of the other disciplines.
• Has mastered the preparation and execution of project scope for a discipline.
• Advanced level of knowledge in business development, has mastered the proposal process and can lead the preparation of proposals for a specific discipline.
• Complete understanding of discipline tools and of company cornerstone applications.
• Fully versed in the collection and/or evaluation of data and information regarding technical and economic factors including physical, chemical, environmental, maintenance, operational, regulatory, constructability, and/or schedule factors relating to a specific subject within a discipline.
• Fully comprehends external factors that impact engineering problems.
• Has mastered the process and use of requisitions and the role of materials management.
• Has mastered leading the development of manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements for a project and can monitor the effect of these on the budget.
• Has mastered and can lead all aspects of estimating for a discipline.
• Has mastered knowledge of discipline material costs and of cost analysis and forecasting.
• Has mastered the understanding of and leads the planning and scheduling of engineering tasks within a specific discipline.
• Has mastered the understanding of the project change control process, can train others and can identify potential changes.
