Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor of Science in Engineering. • Minimum five years of pipeline project management/engineering experience in the midstream/pipeline industry. Or minimum four years of project experience in one of those years as a task manager, or minimum three years of project experience with one of those years under the tutelage of an IE Certified Project Manager. Plus 10 years of midstream/pipeline industry experience, including proven performance as a Project Manager on previous projects. Or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience. • Experience in detailed design of pipeline, meter station design, compressor stations, pump stations, bid document preparations and FERC filing. • Experience in engineering for oil and gas industries specifically with pipeline, compression, or distribution systems. • Must have excellent leadership ability, communications skills, interpersonal skills, and sound judgment. • Must be able to develop strong relationships and accounts with clients and be able to develop business opportunities in engineering/design consulting and successful project and client management experience. • Must be willing to travel to other offices and have a valid drivers' license. • Must have or ability to obtain a TWIC card. • Ideal candidate will have an established practice and a broad network of local, regional, and corporate contacts and relationships to build upon. • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. • This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee. Job Description: The Process Engineering Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Manager for immediate employment in the Santa Maria, California office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the midstream oil and gas industry, specific to pipeline engineering. Incumbent Responsibilities: This position is for a URS Representative who communicates directly with client. Leads URS Project Team in the execution of the projects. Provides oversight to lead discipline engineers, project administrators, and project controls representatives and procurement representative assigned to the project.
The Project Manager/Engineer is also responsible for leading project activities and assisting in other project management activities including: scope development, project resource loading, cost estimating and reporting, scheduling and forecasting, material requisition, HSE support, construction management, RFI, and start-up assistance.
Responsible for building upon existing internal and external relationships as well as developing new ones to maximize the capture of new work in the areas of support to Oil & Gas and Pipeline companies.
