Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or civil engineering
• PE registration in Virginia or ability to obtain Virginia registration within 6 months
• Current OSHA HAZWOPER certification
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in environmental engineering in the areas of site investigation and remediation, environmental compliance and environmental permitting
• Excellent writing, verbal communication, time management, organizational, and teamwork skills
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test


Job Description:

The Infrastructure & Environmental Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Professional for employment in our office in Richmond, Virginia. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in environmental engineering. The successful candidate can look forward to supporting environmental projects involving site investigation, remediation, compliance, and permitting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare environmental site investigation work plans and reports under CERCLA, RCRA, Voluntary Remediation, Petroleum, Solid Waste, CWA, NRC, and other regulatory programs.
• Prepare remedial action work plans, corrective measures studies, feasibility studies, and O&M plans for environmental remediation projects.
• Oversee remedial construction and O&M and monitoring activities.
• Conduct environmental compliance evaluations and audits of Federal and industrial facilities.
• Prepare pollution prevention plans (storage tank management plans, SPCC, ODCP, and SWPPP) for Federal and industrial facilities.
• Formulates plans, designs, cost estimates and specifications.
• Conduct Phase I/II/III environmental site assessments.
• Environmental permitting
