Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering • 12 years of progressive experience with the design and management of municipal engineering projects • Registered Professional Engineer in Arizona • Knowledge and experience with engineering design and project development of municipal roadway improvements including roadway, drainage, and traffic features; coordination of utility relocations; and identification of right-of-way needs • Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel • Ability to manage a team of engineers, project managers and technicians • Good client relations and marketing skills • Ability to assume responsibility for the overall performance of the Municipal Engineering Team including sales and profitability • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. Job Description: URS is seeking an experienced senior transportation engineer for immediate employment within the Transportation Infrastructure Department of the Phoenix office. The qualified applicant will have an established career in transportation engineering for municipal clients. Specific experience may include preliminary design; final design; preparation of plans, specifications and estimates; transportation planning; corridor analyses; multimodal alternatives analyses; major investment studies; and regional transportation plans.
Position Dynamics
This is a management position reporting through a Group Leader to the Transportation Infrastructure Department Manager. The candidate will be accountable for the quality and financial performance of the Municipal Engineering Team.
The candidate will manage and direct the Municipal Engineering Team on a daily basis, including marketing, planning, scheduling, mentoring, and monitoring performance. In addition, the candidate may serve as project manager on major design contracts.
The candidate will work with other team leaders representing other disciplines and business lines to deliver engineering products on multi-disciplined projects.
It is expected that the candidate will have good communication skills, both written and verbal. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those stated above.
