CH2M HILL Work Control Manager Careers - NASA - Huntsville, AL The challenge? Providing exceptional work planning and control services to government clients. Under our government efforts, we provide all services, materials, plant supervision, labor, and equipment to operate, maintain, and repair buildings, utility systems, and base infrastructure at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. Our Work Control Manager positions are responsible for directly supervising operations and maintenance work control functions and support staff. Each day, you will interact with operations and maintenance groups, both internal and with the government's representatives, to identify and optimze work requirements to ensure we meet all scheduling and tracking priorities, as well as perform productivity and schedule impact analysis and provide feedback on operational risks, workforce issues, and schedule duration threats and opportunities and manage a contract's facility assets. You should be a self-motivated, team-focused individual, preferably with supervisory experience; and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project.
Our Work Control Managers: - Report directly to the Program Manager (PM)
- Responsible for receiving, issuing, scheduling, and monitoring trouble calls, trouble call services (minor service requests performed by maintenance personnel), and operations.
- Responsible for work order functions including resource planning, scheduling, and customer interface and statusing.
- Responsible for the issuance and monitoring of recurring services including preventive maintenance and predictive testing and inspections tasks.
- Responsible for communications and coordination with a Utilities Control System (UCS) operators who receives alarm monitoring from a government owned automated building management system.
- Oversee the input and asset maintenance of data, including work orders into Maximo - a government provided computerized maintenance management system.
- Responsible for planning, scoping of work, facilitating, and estimating of work as defined by the customer
- Evaluate subcontractor bids against scopes of work
- Ensure quality review of each of the completed work orders and preventive maintenance work orders.
- Maintain the central file for work control documentation
- Distribute written specifications, as appropriate.
- Provide project-wide, production control reports to determine peak workloads, trend analyses, forecast requirements, and other data to produce efficiencies.
- Continually communicate with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to accurately determine work priorities, anticipate fluctuations in workload, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage a staff of work control clerks, material expeditors, emergency responders, and planners and estimators as well as other support staff.
Additional Information: Role will require successful completion of multiple contingencies to include an Employment Background Check, Physical and Drug Test. Basic Qualifications - Minimum of 10 years experience in areas of work control systems; planning, estimating, and scheduling techniques; computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) ; or industrial engineering.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft products, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge and practical experience in operations and maintenance estimating guides such as RS Means.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama driver's license.
- Position will require ability to pass a background investigation administered by the US Government. To meet these requirements, candidate must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or Bachelor of Arts degree in Management, Public Administration, or Maintenance-related field is desired, but can be substituted by more than 10 years of direct experience in facilities operations and maintenance work control activities and a high school diploma.
- Previous experience in base operations (multiple interrelated buildings and utility systems) is preferred.
- Maximo experience or other CMMS experience preferred.
