Job Description:  CH2M HILL Environmental Compliance Specialist Careers - Erie, PA
The challenge? Help deliver safe, reliable and extremely competitive integrated facilities management and engineering services that focus on enhancing the life-cycle and performance output of our clients' assets. Our Environmental Compliance jobs provide you with an opportunity to maintain, perform and review environmental compliance activities across all environmental media. You will maintain required records and reports per Pennsylvania DEP, US EPA, and other related requirements. Each day, you will represent CH2M HILL and our client as you take responsibility for ensuring that all safe and environmentally compliant work practices are being followed on the client site. You should be a self motivated professional with a minimum 10 years environmental experience, a related Bachelor's degree, process safety management discipline, a high level of experience in related software systems, and a desire to grow personally, as well as professionally, with each Environmental job.


Our Environmental Compliance Specialists:

  • Infuse process rigor into environmental program.
  • Provide focus to critical business initiatives (e.g. stormwater, Environmental Excellence, eco-goals).
  • Assist in execution of program requirements (spill record-keeping, storage tank compliance, equipment disposition, fill management, miscellaneous environmental record-keeping).
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, technical writing and verbal communication skills, and have the opportunity to participate in meetings to discuss safety and environmental programs and other topics.
  • Compile and validate data and prepare compliance reports.
  • Perform maintenance on GenSuite and PERMAC digital tools, including data entry, task owner updates, discrepancy resolution, implementation of new modules, and management of workstation records.
  • Facilitate environmental, infrastructure, and equipment sampling programs, including sample collection, third party analysis, record-keeping and reporting.
  • Perform statistical analysis and charting of environmental compliance and execution data, including creation and maintenance of environmental scorecards.
  • Perform various regularly-scheduled and ad hoc site inspections and audits (e.g. storage tank, visible emissions, waste accumulation areas, fuel handling, and stormwater quality).
  • Support permit renewal efforts and track/catalog minor permit changes (e.g. RCRA, NPDES, SPCC, Title V).
  • Have expert level experience software skills including the Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint) and GenSuite (or other environmental-based tool).
  • Must have attention to detail and a focus on timely task execution.
  • Provide basic statistical analysis, Greenbelt cert preferred.
  • Display creative problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Have earned a BS or MS in a related field (physical sciences, environmental engineering, environmental health, etc).

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years in environmental compliance and process safety management
  • BS in related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience utilizing the MS Office Suite
