Job Description: 
Minimum Requirements:

BA or BS in geography, GIS computer information science, environmental science, natural resource management, or similar field of study.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in GIS, with being in the environmental consulting/engineering field.

The candidate must be proficient in ArcGIS 10.1 and ArcPAD 10.0.4 software, extensions and tools (Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Map Book, Model Builder, etc.). Must be knowledgeable in data collection using Trimble and Garmin GPS units. The candidate must also be able to upload and download data to GPS units for field operations.

The candidate will also have some experience in AutoCAD Map or Civil 3D v2008 or later. The candidate must be able to create and edit simple figures and maps using AutoCAD. Candidate will also work with engineers to create and make minor edits to engineering drawings.

Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to model, manage, analyze, process, project, convert, and display geospatial data (both raster and vector) in various formats.

Must be knowledgeable in publicly available geographic data resources. Candidate must have extensive knowledge of cartographic principles dealing with projections, scales, geo-referencing, map layouts and composition.

Position requires good organizational skills and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment and on multiple concurrent projects.

Must be able to work within assigned budgets, estimate time required for specific work tasks and complete work assignments with specified schedules.

Valid Driver's License.

Job Description:

The GIS Specialist will be a part of a team that supports production of reports, maps, figures and other project deliverables. Tasks associated with this position include: Maintenance and creation of GIS data and associated attribute databases; spatial analysis, cartographic output and user support to clients and other staff members such as biologists, archaeologists, engineers, hydrologists, geologists. The position requires some AutoCAD experience to support engineers in drafting tasks and simple map creation. This position is highly technical in nature and requires a candidate with existing knowledge and skills in order to perform tasks efficiently. Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and willing to work occasional overtime as work conditions demand.
