Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field. • EIT or ability to obtain one within 1 year of hire. • Must have previous internship experience with transportation-related projects in Maryland. • Basic knowledge of CADD and design software, such as MicroStation, Geopak, AutoCAD, or Civil 3d. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey thoughts clearly and concisely. • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. Job Description: The Infrastructure and Environment Group of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Graduate Water Resources Engineer for immediate employment in the Hunt Valley, Maryland office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established education in Surface Transportation, specific to Hydraulic and Hydrology (H&H) design and analysis. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to supporting a wide range of highway, water resources, and site development projects.
• Candidate will be performing entry level engineering tasks. Duties will include preparing storm drain and roadway design, H&H analysis, storm management, erosion control, culvert design, stream restoration design, site development, plan preparation, cost estimates, and coordination with other disciplines. • This position is for a design engineer who will be part of a design team that includes CADD technicians, other design engineers, project engineers, and a project manager. • The successful candidate must have good time management skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and most importantly, a strong desire to learn. Candidate is expected to grow in this position, working towards pea registration and eventual client management and/or technical leadership responsibilities. • The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those stated above.
