The Wheatstone LNG Project is a multi-train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and domestic gas (DomGas) plant near Onslow on the Pilbara Coast. Bechtel is honored to participate in the engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of this LNG plant.

Bechtel is seeking a Piping Superintendent - Buildings to join the EPCM Wheatstone LNG Project working from the Onslow site.

Role Overview

Responsible for the monitoring and managing various Subcontractor's installations of piping, plumbing and drainage systems in both temporary office facilities and permanent plant buildings.
Ensures that all construction operations are in compliance with design and Project specifications and that construction operations are completed safely, to quality standards and on schedule.
Coordinates Subcontractor's work activities on the project
Provides constructability suggestions and input
Provides leadership for the safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs on the project.
Monitors project site safety performance to ensure personnel are committed to Bechtel's "Zero Accidents Plus Philosophy".
Participates in daily toolbox safety meetings.
Monitors contractor quality and safety and resolve any deficiencies.
Ensures that Subcontractors follows approved procedures, planes and method statements.
Ensures the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
Ensures that all subcontract milestone dates are completed as scheduled.
Ensures that all construction activities meet quality and workmanship standards.
Ensures required permits are in place prior to the start of the work at site.
Monitors quantity reporting.

Basic Qualifications

Significant demonstrated construction management experience for the installation of piping, plumbing and drainage systems for fire and potable water, sewage, and HVAC for buildings.
Familiarity with relevant Western Australian building codes and quality standards.
Experience working with, supervising and administering Subcontractors
Experience in remote, zero infrastructure projects preferred, ideally within Western Australia would be beneficial.

Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
