This LNG Project is a grass roots 2 Train Liquefied Natural Gas Facility that will be constructed on Curtis Island, (near Gladstone).It will be performed using a combination of Direct Hire and Construction Management of experienced specialist Australian Subcontractors methods. Unless otherwise indicated, applicants for construction positions should have heavy industrial Direct Hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken and the requirements identified below. Role Overview The Field Engineer Electrical (nightshift) reports to the Lead Field Engineer Electrical and the Project Field Engineer. This individual is responsible for providing technical assistance, direction, and support to Bechtel and subcontractor field supervision for nightshift construction and installation activities of electrical system equipment and materials.. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: - Progressively performing inspections and initiating documentation for LNG plant electrical system installations on an ongoing basis, especially related to single line and schematic wiring diagrams, equipment and cable schedules, load lists and calculations, switchgear, switchboards, distribution boards, transformers, generators, and power and control wiring and terminations, with particular emphasis to requirements for electrical equipment in hazardous areas
- Providing support to field supervision in establishing requirements for manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements for scope of work
- Developing installation work packages for scopes of work in support of the construction schedule
- Supporting preparation of short- and long-term schedules, and interfacing with electrical superintendents and other discipline field engineers
- Executing field material takeoffs from "Issued For Construction" drawings, providing input to the quantity tracking applications and reporting on weekly installed quantities to Project Controls
- Preparing field material requisitions for electrical equipment and materials, and monitoring status of purchase orders and deliveries
- Assisting field procurement in receipt inspection and reporting of associated equipment and materials and preventive maintenance requirements
- Trouble-shooting engineering and design, and resolving issues with engineering and/or fabricator using formal field documentation processes
- Ensuring all installations are per latest revisions of design drawings, specifications, standards and codes
- Acting as point of contact for coordination and resolution of all technical issues related to select subcontractors on site who provide technical services for the execution of the permanent plant electrical systems scope of work, including initiating all formal subcontract change documentation to support the subcontract administrator
- Completing and verifying quality documentation per inspection and test plans
- Completing final system walk-downs, deficiency tracking and close-out
- Completing and reviewing as-built documentation
- Monitoring actual work performance compared to the project budget and schedule
Basic Qualifications - Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience/qualifications
- Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
- Experience managing technical services subcontracts is desirable
- Specific familiarity with application of Australian Standards for electrical installations in an industrial construction or operations environment is a requirement of this role
- Good working understanding of Australian Standards pertaining to electrical equipment in hazardous areas is preferred, including experience applying these standards in the field
- Recent certification of training in installation, maintenance, testing and inspection of electrical equipment hazardous areas is an advantage
- Experience in construction, operation or maintenance of liquefied natural gas facilities, petroleum refineries or chemical plants is an advantage
- Displays effective communications skills crucial to reporting across levels in the organization, motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
- Ability to work autonomously, managing own workload to meet deliverable and schedule requirements
- Position is for a Nighshift Electrical Field Engineer. This individual must able to travel site and work at night with limited lighting and be comfortable with those working arrangements.

Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.) BOPS Guidelines include the minimum time that you need to be in your current position before applying to a new position.
