Minimum Requirements:

BS Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Physics, or Mathematics and a minimum of 0-5 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Equivalent military training and work experience in the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) disciplines may be considered.

***Work Experience or coursework: Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Radar, Communications, Electromagnetic (EM) field measurements, E3 testing.
Excellent communications and analytical skills. Knowledge of microwave receivers, communication links/systems, radar principals, RF components, digital signal processing (DSP), and/or electronic warfare (EW) techniques; working knowledge of microwave test equipment and familiarity with computational EMC analysis.

Knowledge of how to use microwave test equipment. Ability to learn to plan, schedule, and lead testing. Knowledge of systems engineering and the DOD 5000 acquisition guidelines is a plus. Ability to learn to complete computational EMC analyses. Knowledge of microwave receivers, communication links/systems, radar principals, RF components, digital signal processing (DSP), and/or electronic warfare (EW) techniques. Ability to make sound engineering decisions and recommend sound programmatic advice

Physical requirements:

Physical Requirements:
Candidate must have the physical ability to support shipboard work that includes carrying heavy equipment (sometimes in access of 70 pounds) on/off ship, up/down ladders, and through small portals. Must be able to adapt to the tight confines of a Navy ship environment, including sleeping quarters. Must be able and willing to work throughout the night on some shipboard missions.

Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance; current clearance preferred.

URS is seeking an Engineer to perform a variety of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3)engineering functions with a primary focus on Communications. Responsibilities may include: attend electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) meetings, prepare trip reports, review technical documentation, develop detailed E3 test plans, participate in test planning meetings and test readiness reviews. Perform E3 testing, gather, reduce, and analyze resulting data, and prepare and publish detailed test reports. Ability to learn to plan, schedule, and lead shipboard EMI testing, make sound engineering decisions, and recommend sound programmatic advice. Gain knowledge of systems engineering and the DOD 5000 acquisition guidelines and gain familiarity with the protocol for civilian ship visits/rides is desirable.
