Bechtel is one of the world's premier engineering, construction, and project management companies. The Wheatstone LNG Project is a multi-train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and domestic gas (DomGas) plant near Onslow on the Pilbara Coast. Bechtel is honored to participate in the engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of this LNG plant.

Bechtel is seeking a Piping Superintendent to join the EPCM Wheatstone LNG Project working from the Onslow site.

Role Overview

Responsible for the monitoring and managing various buildings Subcontractor's installation of piping, plumbing and drainage systems in both temporary office facilities and permanent plant buildings.
Ensures that all construction operations are in compliance with design and Project specifications and that construction operations are completed safely, to quality standards and on schedule.
Coordinate subcontractor's work activities on the project
Provide leadership for the safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs on the project.
Monitors project site safety performance to ensure personnel are committed to Bechtel's "Zero Accidents Plus Philosophy".
Monitor contractor quality and safety and resolve any deficiencies.
Ensures that subcontractor follows approved procedures, planes and method statements.
Ensures the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
Ensures that all subcontract milestone dates are completed as scheduled.
Ensures that all construction activities meet quality and workmanship standards.
Ensures required permits are in place prior to the start of the work at site.

Basic Qualifications

Extensive practical work experience in a similar position, preferably on an LNG or other resources project.
Knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities for the installation of AG/UG piping, building plumbing and drainage systems for fire and potable water, and sewage.
Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors.
Experience in remote zero infrastructure projects preferred.
Previous experience in working in Australia, specifically Western Australia is preferred.

Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
