Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business/Logistics or related field and at least 3 years of job related experience or equivalent.

• Entrants to this position generally possess experience in materials management or Production Planning. Min 3 years of hands on experience in SAP ERP materials management and Production Planning required.

• DOD experience desired

• Lean/Six Sigma experience desired

• Strong analytic and problem solving skills as well as excellent verbal, written, presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.

• Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

• Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

• Position may require travel.


Job Description:

URS is looking for a Production Controller to join our team in Crane, Indiana!

The Production Controller will lead project materials management & production planning efforts and is accountable for the performance of logistics, and materials management on assigned project(s).

Provide advice, assistance, guidance or counseling to the government in support of DoD implementation of SAP ERP materials/Asset management modules and their integration with the other SAP Modules. This may also include studies, analysis and reports documenting any proposed developmental, consultative or implementation efforts/recommendations.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Assumes responsibility and accountability for project materials & production planning management activities and systems to track and control materials/equipment and furnish them to the point of use at the time required by the contract.

2. Perform gap analysis on "current" and "future" state and provide counsel on transition plan from current to future state.

3. Mentors and provides training for project materials management personnel .

4. Coordinates the preparation of standard materials management instruments for the project

5. Ensures that materials management functions are performed in conformance with the requirements of the customer including, as applicable, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its supplements.

6. Perform review, analysis, and validation of engineering and logistics products; prepare executive-level reports and briefs.

7. Monitors materials management progress and facilitates early identification and timely resolution of potential problems, changes, disputes, and claims.

8. Collaborate daily with customer(s) to determine specific needs and requirements and counsel within the expertise area; including oversight and task execution.

9. Maintains awareness of market trends to identify and implement process improvements, reduce costs, and increase utilization of resources.

10. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a materials management organization to support company or project requirements.

11. Interface with various technical and logistics team leaders daily to exchange information and coordinate related task performance.

12. Consult as industry expert with customer, advise on policy development, planning and implementation

13. Prepares and implements project materials management execution plans, staffing plans, and project materials management procedures.

14. Seeks appropriate counsel from materials management as required to meet complex project issues.

15. Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
