Job Description: 

Purpose of Role

Manage the Commercial Cashier workflow by striving to secure efficient finance processes and controls to reduce bad debt exposure and secure associated ledger integrity. Support team to deliver a high standard of customer focus and service.


Key Job Accountabilities:



  • Manage month end processes and controls by ensuring all reporting and reconciliations are completed

  • Identification and flagging of continuous process improvements

  • Responsible for reviewing the Bank Reconciliation to ensure its integrity and completeness and highlighting any areas of concern to the FSS Cash Manager

  • Produce the team’s monthly KPI/performance reports and address any issues or concerns with direct reports in a timely manner

  • Liaise with key stakeholders internationally as well as auditors to ensure all queries are answered accurately and efficiently

  • Responsible for managing and coaching a team of people

  • Responsible for downloading/uploading bank statements from internet and reconciliation to the General Ledger

  • Creation of AR batches for allocation to the subledger on a timely basis.

  • Reporting and escalation of returned payments on a daily basis.

  • Effective clearing of all Market Clearing Accounts and month end reconciliations performed.

  • Question and rationalise banking transactions populated by the Commercial Clearing accounts, ensuring accurate and timely ledger postings.

  • Maintenance and improvement of Market Crib Sheets.

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to resolve any issues arising to secure compliance and continuous improvement

  • Continually develop and review Cashier processes to secure best practice

  • Coach and develop team members to reach their full potential

  • Ad-hoc projects, as required

  • Responsible for maintaining the ethical standards of The Body Shop including minimising the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace and responsible for reporting potential risks, real accidents and near misses to relevant managers

  • Champions, supports and participates in The Body Shop’s Values and Campaigns

  • To perform other related duties as assigned or requested


Experience:



  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007.

  • Previous experience of working in an international finance environment

  • Previous line management experience desirable, but not essential

  • Ability to resolve problems with a resilient disposition

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written

  • High standards of customer service

  • Working knowledge of developing and writing procedures and processes

  • Experience of negotiating with key stakeholders

  • Excellent organisational skills


Qualifications:



  • ‘A’ level or equivalent
