Job Description:  Regional Managers here at The Body Shop actively lead and develop a first class store management team in order to exceed the regional budgeted profit target and drive overall business. This is achieved through high engagement, strong Customer service and brand loyalty.


Key Job Accountabilities:

Drives Customer Connection


  • Actively engage with and listen to Customer feedback, ensuring the Customer is at the heart of business decisions

  • Drive product interaction through the coaching of store management, whilst observing sensitivity to Customer needs

  • Maintain high and consistent Company standards, in relation to store presentation, VM, property and assets through the coaching of the store management population

  • Champion, support and participate in The Body Shop charity campaigns


Acheives Results, with Integrity


  • Operate in a high support, high challenge performance environment - holding people to account for their actions and behaviours

  • Achieve sales targets through specific KPI goals across the region within your stores

  • Define clear objectives, targets and goals to direct reports whilst providing high levels of support and challenge

  • Plan and follow up on actions, managing time effectively to meet deadlines and achieve results

  • Accountable for overall shrinkage, profit, payroll, expenses, policies, proceedures across your region

  • Act as a role model for the values, resepecting the L'Oreal Code of Business Ethics

  • Listen, interact, influence and nuture relationships at all levels and areas of the business
    Coach, develop and mentor store management, taking accountability for performance and colleague development, whilst always focusing on the Customer

  • Celebrate success through the use of varied approaches, dependant on audience and subject matter

  • Act quickly to resolve people issues, enacting the relevant HR policies and procedures (where required), working alongside the relevant HR Business Partner/ASK HR

  • Seek out feedback at every available opportunity and consider actions based upon such information

  • Provide clear, concise and accurate support, information and guidance in a timely manner, meeting deadlines as and when required

  • Contribute to the work of others by providing relevant feedback in a factual and timely manner, helping to drive business performance and goals

  • Facilitate positive change within the orgranisation, whilst reducing the impact of such activity to the colleague and Customer alike

  • Develop, foster and promote a strong working knowledge of The Body Shop brand, products & service

  • Actively monitor the competition and external retail market, ensuring the organisation is aware of this activity and we include this data as part of our planning

  • Integrate and share new techniques and know-how to improve business performance


Manages Complexity


  • Develop and share knowledge of the region, Company and organisational goals, ensuring alignment at all times

  • Work with the relevant retail HR Business Partner to define and develop talent and succession planning, within the region and across the organisation as a whole

  • Deal with uncertainanty by identifying key issues and business drivers, making consisive decisions to move the business forward with particular focus on performance management


Innovates


  • Stay aware of the latest thinking, evidence and analysis in retail and people leadership, sharing best practice with colleagues at every available opportunity

  • Foster a climate of mutual trust enabling the development of new ideas and business innovation

  • Act as a brand ambassador, building external networks with relevant parties to ensure The Body Shop stays connected and current in the retail business field


Demonstrates Entrepreneurship


  • Actively seek out improvements to work processes, driving the performance of people and business efficiencies, building external networks e.g. Shopping centre management

  • Lead on recruitment and integration, taking a pro-active approach to recruit and select outstanding candidates, ensuring full succession planning and talent pipelines are in place

  • Provide career counselling and advice to direct reports, always aware of and developing the talent and skill within your region and have a development plan in place for all store managers




Experience:

Proven track record of leading, coaching and managing in a multi-site retail or service sector. Customer centric and values-based working environments (advantageous)
