About Tesla Tesla's goal is to accelerate the world's transition to electric mobility with a full range of increasingly affordable electric cars. Tesla has delivered more than 2,400 Roadsters to customers worldwide and received more than 13,000 reservations for Model S. Model S, the world's first premium sedan to be engineered from the ground up as an electric vehicle, began deliveries to U.S. customers in June of this year and was named Motor Trend's prestigious 2013 Car of the Year. The Role Tesla Motors is seeking an Instructional Designer to design an engaging educational experience for Tesla Service Technicians. The Instructional Designer will accomplish this by designing web-based and video courses. Responsibilities • Using ADDIE method, design engaging instructor-led, web-based and video courses for adult learners • Create storyboards and collaborate with Interactive Developer • Identify course goals, target audience, and learning objectives • Ensure course objectives are criterion based • Write task based assessment questions that measure objectives • Develop a course outline and lesson plan • Organize course materials in a learning hierarchy based on terminal and enabling objectives • Identify content strategies and treatments that will provide the best training experience for the student • Conduct Curriculum Analysis Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Business, Engineering, or a technical related field • General automotive knowledge, systems, components, and related technologies • Experience designing and developing automotive training and performance improvement materials • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to collaborate with team members to produce learning solutions and provide project status updates • Ability to conduct train-the-trainer session from developed material • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel • Beginning to intermediate knowledge of Camtasia and Adobe development software • Knowledge of e-Learning Authorware such as Captivate, Lectora, Articulate, and similar products • Experience with maintaining or updating course material with an LMS such as CourseMill or equivalent Tesla Motors is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
