Terminals Project Manager - Houston, TX

Our Terminals Project Manager position offers an exciting opportunity to help our clients provide a safe and reliable source of energy in support of millions of people. Each day you will be part of a team working on projects in Oil and Refined Products distribution that include storage tanks, related pipeline receiving and delivery systems, truck racks, measurement systems, and terminal automation. You will integrate resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, and quality considerations across the diverse engineering, purchasing, construction, and start-up aspects in a variety of projects. You should have experience with all aspects of the project life cycle (feasibility studies and initial scoping through construction), be a self-motivated, and have a background in terminal operations with 10+ years of experience.
Our Terminals Project Manager: - Capitalizes on our local market service center and drives growth consistent with the overall Business Group's growth strategy.
Two primary components to this are: -
- Drive integration of existing local resources into the work to extent possible. Work within our East Region offices utilizing local teams that are able to effectively implement Terminals and midstream projects.
- Identify gaps in local skills that are required to meet project requirements, then coordinate and retain accountability for support provided from other offices.
- Has advanced project knowledge of API 650 storage tanks, truck racks, liquid pump equipment, vapor recovery and handling, petroleum measurement systems, and terminal automation.
- Possesses an engineering background with a mix of office, field, and construction experience; preferably with both consulting and operating company experience.
- Is well networked within the industry, with the interest and ability to expand network externally and within the broader CH2M HILL enterprise.
- Has experience managing E, EP, and EPCM contract delivery.
- Is experienced with all project life-cycle phases (feasibility through implementation) and associated gated processes.
- Has a good understanding of infrastructure within terminaling facilities, and a detailed understanding of key engineering documentation.
- Has a good understanding of Shale Gas operations and NG Compression project execution
- Has a good understanding pipeline gathering and distribution project execution.
- Has strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Works effectively without direct supervision, interface with a variety of people and manage competing demands.
- Manages client relationships.
- Works with Business Development staff to drive development of new client relationships and opportunities.
- Assembles then leads multidiscipline project teams (engineering, permitting, safety, construction, startup, commissioning).
- Achieves project requirements (safety, scope, schedule, budget, quality) for the overall project, not just engineering.
- Evaluates and reports project performance both internally and to the client.
- Assists in developing total installed cost estimates.
- Conducts evaluations of material and construction bids.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management from accredited college or university is required.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in a project engineering/management role.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the Pipeline industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel (50%).
Preferred Qualifications - Pertinent field and construction experience is a plus
- Operating Company experience is a plus
- P.E. and/or P.M.P. registration is a plus
- Willing to relocate for project demands
- Refinery OSBL (outside battery limits) and Pipeline facilities field and construction experience is a plus.
