Minimum five years experience in geotechnical field technician work.

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

Job Description:

The IE Division of URS is actively seeking a motivated Filed Technician for immediate employment in the Fort Washington, PA office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an ability to master field technician tasks. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including highways, power plants, refineries, dams, levees, and landfills.

• Oversee test borings and test pits for field investigations for highways and power and oil and gas structures.
• Oversee and perform construction monitoring of foundations and retaining walls for buildings, highways, and industrial structures.
• Must be able to work in field for a number of weeks at a time.
• Assist in geotechnical laboratory performing index testing.
• Should be available for travel for assignments within three hours of the office.
• The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those stated above.
