Minimum Requirements: • BS in Civil Engineering or appropriate discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience. • Minimum of nine (9) years' experience, with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as highway design and drainage design. • Experience developing plans and specifications for Colorado Department of Transportation. • Must have the ability to plan and design roadways and to develop design plans, perform calculations, write specifications, and develop estimates for these areas is required. • Working knowledge of MicroStation, experience with MS Office, and be able to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required. • Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both, verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work. • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position is a key member of the URS Colorado Transportation Department and will be responsible for the pursuit and management of major transportation projects in Colorado. The primary focus will be on highway and multi-modal design projects and may involve alternative delivery including design-build and CM/GC. Experience in transit and/or rail design, as related to multi-modal urban corridors, will enhance the overall qualification for this position. The position will involve high profile project pursuits involving a high level of client interaction, the development of strategic teaming arrangements and leading a technically diverse team in pursuit of project wins throughout Colorado. This position will receive direction from the Design Group Leader and also work independently depending on the work involved.
