Job Description:  Associate Project Manager, Energy & Chemicals, Spartanburg, South Carolina

The Challenge? Help to meet the ever increasing global demand for energy. Our Associate Project Manager position will offer you an exciting opportunity to help our clients provide a safe and reliable source of energy in support of millions of people worldwide. Each day you will have the opportunity to be part of a team working on projects in the upstream, midstream and downstream energy business on projects varying from regional shale plays, gas and oil processing to petrochemicals and fine chemicals. You will integrate the various engineering, scheduling, procurement, construction, and start-up aspects in a variety of projects. You should have experience with the aspects of the project life cycle (feasibility studies FEED / FEL, detail design through construction), and be self-motivated with 7+ years of experience coordinating projects across disciplines.

Our Associate Project Manager :
  • Assembles and leads the project team. Allocates resources where appropriate to achieve the safety, schedule, cost, scope, and quality objectives of the project
  • Supports Project Director on larger projects or programs with technical coordination and leadership
  • Leads development of Total Installed Cost estimates
  • Manages multi-discipline project delivery; ensures compliance with overall project objectives
  • Evaluates material and construction bids
  • Complies with applicable regulations and client guidelines for design, project documentation and records
  • Participates in business development activities
  • Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, monitors progress to maintain schedules and budgets; identifies and documents change scope
  • Interacts with discipline leads to ensure compliance with project objectives
  • Manages technical support during construction
  • Design, coordination, and communications related to the project

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or related Engineering from accredited college or university is required
  • Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in a related industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communications is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operating Company experience in a related industry is a plus
  • Registration as an Enginer-In-Training or as a Professional Engineer is preferred but not mandatory

Degree Required

Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
